The BBC has become increasingly weak and ineffectual in its fulfilling its remit of religious programming. The general trend is to broaden the term so much that instead of anything to do with religion, what we get instead is Rick Wakeman talking to Aled Jones about how ‘spiritual’ it is to write prog music; or an ex sporting personality making a thoughtful face whilst some guy in a wizard’s hat discusses the real medicinal uses of homeopathy.
But the BBC have made a change of late, there was that brilliant Reverse Missionaries documentary earlier in the year and their pentecost coverage from this Sunday just gone was grand. Check it out. It was great to see a service in full rather than just the edited ‘inoffensive’ highlights. It was great to hear the gospel shared and on such a huge platform.
I know that the BBC bots are able to find any mention of the BBC or link to the iPlayer and have someone there read it. — So if you’re from the BBC and your reading this MORE PLEASE we’re fed up of the toothless-weak-sauce version of religion you spoon fed a generation. We want more of the good stuff like your recent output.
